For those First Responders Who Need Help :
FGF Assistance Rules & Guidelines
The FGF is a certified 501(c)(3) organization which assists 9/11 First Responders who are in need of direct financial aide due to 9/11 related illness or injury. The following guidelines are hereby established to determine benefit amounts:
- A eligible First Responder will receive an initial payment of $250.00 in order to help with basic financial needs, such as the purchase of food or payment of basic utility bills.
o An Eligible First Responder is hereby defined as any worker or volunteer who worked or volunteered at the World Trade Center Site or south of Canal Street to the southern tip of Manhattan, on September 11, 2001 through May 30, 2002. A First Responder will also be considered any worker or volunteer who worked at the NYC Morgue, Temporary Morgue, Arthur Kills Landfill or any of the barges carrying garbage from the WTC Site.
o The World Trade Center Site is hereby defined as the former site of the World Trade Center Towers and that area commonly referred to as “the Pit”.
- Assistance is provided to First Responders on a “needs basis.” In order to be eligible for any benefit, including an initial payment, such First Responder must show an economic need for same. Economic need is determined by the Executive Board of the FealGood Foundation. The First Responder may be required to provide necessary documentation to establish a need for assistance. Failure to provide such requested documentation will disqualify the First Responder from assistance.
o The FealGood Foundation survives on the donations of it charitable sources, therefore economic assistance for any First Responder is contingent on the economic viability and ability of the FealGood Foundation. The FealGood Foundation therefore reserves the right to deny assistance to responders on the basis of economic means.
- The FealGood Foundation will provide economic assistance for the following:
o Mortgage Payments;
o Rent Payments;
o Purchase of Food;
o Payment of Utility Bills
§ Utility Bills are hereby defined as bills in satisfaction of debts owed to electric companies, oil companies or water authorities.
o Medical Assistance when needed.
o Please Note:
§ No other bills monetary benefit will be allocated by the FealGood Foundation without majority vote of the FealGood Foundation Executive Board. It is not expected that any payments outside of those noted above will be approved but the FealGood Foundation reserves the right to consider and approve same.
- No Responder will receive more than $2000.00 in any one calendar year except by majority vote of the FealGood Foundation Executive Board.
- The Maximum Benefit any responder may receive is $5000.00, except by majority vote of the FealGood Foundation Executive Board.
- The FealGood Foundation Executive Board is hereby defined as the President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Sargent at Arms and General Counsel.
The FealGood Foundation hereby reserves the right to deny assistance, including initial payment assistance, to any individual on a majority vote of the Feal Good Foundation Executive Board. Denial of assistance beyond the Initial Payment shall not need Executive Board majority vote, but is at the sole discretion of the President, 1st Vice President and 2nd Vice President upon decision of economic need.
The FealGood Foundation hereby reserves the right to modify or change the above guidelines at any time. |
