April 6, 2008

On Behalf of the FGF,I wish to thank The Scooter Store,Harmar Lift, and the Country Kitchen for helping us at the FGF help one of yesterday's heroes. The compassion and generosity shown by your businesses is unmatched and hopefully emulated by others. With your help, and Congressman Bishop & Legislature Kennedy's presence and sincere words,I truly believe we have made a difference in a fragile community of brave souls. We at the FGF will call upon other businesses in all communities so we can better assist the 9/11 responder, but it is you great individuals who have set the standard high. Our resolve and testament was noticed by hundreds if not thousands, because of one simple rule...........WE ALL CARE.

Washington D.C. Rally for 9/11 Workers
February 27, 200

Dear friends,supporters and responders:

We wish to thank everyone who attend the trip to D.C.,stood in the rain for an hour, and were patient with the FGF board members while waiting for updates and information. On behalf of everyone at the FGF we tried and like to think we met everyone's accommodations. A trip this big has never been done by anyone, and was put together by 9/11 responders just like yourself's. While we winged most of it,it is in my opinion, that this trip was a success. We are already getting word back from Washington on the impact we made. Things are moving faster then ever in a positive direction because of all of you great amazing individuals. I promise that in the future we will run a more efficient trip, with a clear itinerary of the whole trip. Again please understand we took orders from higher places and tried our best to disseminate information in a speedy way. I have attached 2 pictures from the 245 that were taken, and if anyone wants a picture of themselves or with a group please e-mail me,and if anyone wants a CD of the full 245,please send your address and we will gladly mail them to you at no charge. We made a difference by going to Washington because we were united. And we will continue to make a difference by staying to our message. Thank you all again for your presence on the hill. For those who couldn't be there, you missed something truly amazing and look forward to seeing at the next one.

                                                               Your friend & fellow responder

Valentine Doo-Wop Dinner Dance Show
February 16, 2008

Thank you to all our friends, families, supporters and most of 9/11 responders who made our February 16th show a success. The warmth and caring atmosphere created an historical event, that will once again help those less fortunate. While so many brave souls continue to fight for their 9/11 health care, medical costs, prescription costs, mortgages, rent, utilities, and just put food on their table,it is the great American people like all of you who continue to ease the burden of their heroic actions 6.5 years ago. Together we will change the landscape of denial and neglect, and together as a unified group of caring Americans we will make change and a difference in yesterdays heroes life's. While we will not point fingers, and discuss what they have not done,we will continue to spread the message of solutions and problem solving. We will leave behind the negative and work towards the positive. We will overcome the obstacles we faced together as a fraternity and share in a brighter tomorrow. Make no mistake,we will not fail, and we will not tolerate anything less then proper benefits, health care and compensation for all those affected by 9/11 and it's aftermath.God bless you all & your families, and God bless America.

Williamstown Middle School
January 9, 2008

Myself and the Fealgood Foundation wish to thank everyone at the Williamstown Middle School, and Mrs. Freeman's fifth grade class for a powerful presentation on 9/11 responders and the health issues they face. We are humbled by your compassion, and thankful for your concern in helping us spread the message of help and caring. The adult community has much to learn from a wonderful group of 10 & 11 year olds. Today I met tomorrows leaders, and from what I witnessed first hand, this country will be far better off when this select group of kids grow into pillars of society and make this a great country again.God bless you.John Feal

Myself and the Fealgood Foundation wish to thank the Pinewood Estate Volunteer Fire Co.  and Barnegat Police Dept, and Mike & Dawn Essig for putting together a special evening for the Fealgood Foundation and Charlie Giles .While the evening was a fundraiser for the FGF, we turned around and donated it all to the Giles family. COMMACK HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI AWARD EVENT
OCTOBER 6, 2007

I would like to extend a warm thank you to Scott Rubinstein, Assistant Principle Carol Bertolotti, the Alumni of Distinction committee and everyone at Commack High School.  As humbling and rewarding in receiving such an honor, it is with greater honor I accept this award on behalf of all 9/11 responders and those affected by 9/11 and it's aftermath, who the Fealgood Foundation helps. It is the testament and resolve of these brave souls that has allowed me to even be noticed for such a distinguished award.

I can only hope that if my name is ever mentioned for an award again, that my Foundation has helped even more great New Yorkers and Americans at large who are catastrophically effected by 9/11. With much more work ahead of us, I  look forward the near future that the Commack school district partners with the Fealgood Foundation helping those in the district who suffer from 9/11 and it's aftermath. Giving a kidney was the easiest thing I ever done, helping thousands of sick people is the hardest, but with friends and supporters we will overcome, achieve and reach our goals. God bless.

BARNSTEAD FIRE RESCUE STATION FUND RAISING EVENT
For Immediate Release

For further information, Please contact
Janet Leavitt  435-8668 or   jleavitt9901@yahoo.com

Sat. Sept. 15th  Barnstead Community members got together at Barnstead Fire Rescue Station 1 to support the unsung heros of 9/11's aftermath.

On the rainy Saturday morning local residents came out to support the Fealgood Foundation and some of the 33.000 sick workers who spent time on "the pile" at Ground Zero.

With over 30 baskets raffled off and 9 silent auctions, nearly $800.00 was raised and has been sent to John Feal, president and founder of the Fealgood Foundation, a 503 (c) non profit organization, where 100% of the proceeds go to the workers who need it.

Melissa Byers, who originally saw John on AM television, said her daughter Natasha approached her with the need to help.  After thinking it over she called several friends and the ideas started to come together.  Several months, multiple phonecalls to and from New York and many hours later the raffle and silent auction was a success.

Janet Leavitt, the other organizer stated, "It wasn't as good as we had hoped, but way better then we expected for our first year, and when you are scraping to make ends meet, $50 for groceries can seem like a million."  "The major reason we could send so much to John and the foundation is because of the generousity of the surrounding community.  Each item that was donated was one less that we had to pay for."

Both Melissa and Janet would like to extend there thanks to Heidi Lewis, Travis O'Donnell and Katie Archambault who worked countless hours with Janet's husband Jason doing set up and break down with the girls.  "All of their help made it go so much smoother," stated Leavitt, "between their help and the kids (Nathasha and Logan Byers and Alli Jeanson-Leavitt) we were able to set up and break down in a relativiely short time."

Donoted items came from Duane Family Farm, Smith's Candies of Alton, Path of the Samurai, Dollar Plus, Clarks Grain Store, Dominick's Pizza Pasta and More, Half Penny Bakery, Heath's Flower Shop, Maxfield's Ace Hardware, Epsom Dunkin' Donuts, Classic Cutlery, Suncook River Canoe and Kayak, Bill and Donna Holmes, Barnstead Motor Sports, Alton Hannaford's, Concord Shaws, Parade Road Enterprises, Arnies Garage, Mary Kay from Donna Sinclair, Independent Beauty Consultant, Creative Memories from Tonia Cardinal, Independent Sales Consultant, and Tastefully Simple from Staci Connolly Anagnos, Senior Team Member,  Eaton Cake School and sponsors James and Elizabeth Leavitt, Pamela and William Rafeal and Parade Road Enterprises.

A rap up meeting is planed for the 25th and planning for next years event will start in December, anyone interested in joining or donating can please contact Janet at jleavitt9901@worldpath.net.
